Simon Fraser University (SFU), founded in 1965, is a large, non-profit public education institution in Burnaby, British Columbia, with branch campuses in Vancouver and Surrey. Officially acknowledged by British Columbia's Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, it serves a student body of 25,000-29,999 and offers a variety of degree programs, from pre-bachelor's to doctorates. Admissions are somewhat selective, with an acceptance rate of 80-89%.
