8. Defences - Mistake of Fact and Law, Incapacity, Duress, Provocation, Consent, Intoxication, Necessity, Automatism)

The course was taught by Jennifer Bond at the University of Ottawa.

The text book used was Criminal Law and Procedure: Cases, Context and Critique (Jennie Abell, Elizabeth Sheehy, Natasha Bakht) and the supplementary version from the same authors focusing on defences and procedures. PDF and word versions of the booklet are available.
