The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), established in 1990, is a small, non-profit, public higher education institution in the suburban area of Prince George, British Columbia, with branch campuses in Fort St. John, Quesnel, and Terrace. Recognized by British Columbia’s Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, it has 3,000-3,999 students. UNBC offers an array of courses leading to officially recognized higher education degrees, such as pre-bachelor's (certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor's, master's, and doctorates in various areas of study. Its admission policy is selective, based on past academic records.
