The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), founded in 1969, is a non-profit, public higher education institution situated in Montréal, Quebec, and has branch campuses in Lanaudière, Laval, Montérégie, and Ouest de l'île. UQAM is a very large institution with an enrolment of 35,000-39,999 students, offering programs leading to bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees across various fields. Admission is selective, based on entrance exams and students' prior academic performance. Alongside its academic programs, UQAM offers numerous services and facilities including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid, study abroad programs, online courses and distance learning options. International students are also welcomed for admission.
